The great Russian revolutionary Vladimir Lenin described the newspaper as the “scaffolding” of a revolutionary party under construction – an organ through which all revolutionaries contribute by writing, designing, and distributing it in their local areas. In a revolutionary organisation, the paper serves as a collective organiser, propagandist, and an agitational weapon – cutting right through the lies and distortions of the capitalist press and the ruling class.
